Agenda:
"Empowering Independence" reflects more than just an event; it is an inspiring celebration and educational collaboration, that will begin with stations that are designed to expand your awareness of disability.
Stations include information from the League of Women Voters of Orange County, an accessible voting demonstration from the Supervisor of Elections, the opportunity to try out assistive technology, and scenarios that a person with a disability may experience throughout their life.
Beverly Chapman was a force to be reckoned with in the Independent Living movement. Listeners are in for a treat learning about CIL's founder and discovering who this year's disability inclusion champion receiving the Beverly Chapman award will be.
Our panelists will discuss actions you can take to break down barriers towards disability inclusion. Our panelists are Representative Rita Harris; Hector del Valle, MSW; and Nicola Norton, MSW. Greg Angel with Spectrum News 13 is moderating.
